Let’s reframe how we think about One Health.
Nearly two decades since its inception, the 'One Health' approach, which recognizes the interconnectedness of human, animal, and environmental health, with the goal of tackling intricate health challenges through collaborative efforts across sectors, has been associated with combating infectious diseases and their impact on human health.
However, to truly achieve One Health's goal of optimal health outcomes for all, we must broaden our perspective. To realize this goal, we need to adopt a more inclusive and collaborative approach that transcends traditional boundaries and involves working across various sectors - from governments to multilateral organizations, civil society philanthropies, and the private sector.
In this session featuring Vital Strategies and Temasek Trust, speakers will delve into One Health programs in Indonesia, Thailand and Vietnam, to uncover innovative approaches and solutions to this challenge. One such policy solution involves advocating for health taxes, which are not only an effective fiscal policy measure but also a strategic investment to address the region's health challenges holistically, promoting the well-being of both present and future generations.
