Redwings Horse Sanctuary-Heartland Charter School

Come along for a tour of the Redwings Horse Sanctuary where we will learn about the amazing equines that call Redwings home. The sanctuary is located in the heart of the Paso Robles Wine Country on 141 beautiful acres. The property was designed specifically to meet the needs of rescued horses. They have everything from the smallest miniature horse to the largest draft horse. Their herd of burros and their herd of Mustangs from the Pryor Mountains of Montana are very popular with guests, and their draft herd, stand regally at the top of their hill and keep a watchful eye over the ranch. Enjoy a tour of the sanctuary as well as getting an opportunity to learn about the care and maintenance of these wonderful animals.

Families may bring carrots to feed the equine and/or bring something from the sanctuary’s wish list.

We encourage you to turn in a sample that is linked to the field trip that you attended during your next learning period. It helps to ensure that we can continue to provide these opportunities.

Heartland field trips are designed for families to attend together. Students need to be accompanied by an adult chaperone. If your student will be attending with another family, please let the field trip host know once you complete your registration.

Refunds will not be given for any reason. As a courtesy, if you are sick or unable to attend a field trip, please contact the teacher who planned the event to let them know so they do not wait at the venue for you.* Families who are no-shows may lose access to future field trips.*

May I pay using my student's planning amount? Yes! You can pay for your student's ticket and one chaperone ticket with your student's planning amount. T here are two steps to purchase tickets for field trips with your student's planning amount.

Step 1. Reserve your tickets on Eventbrite. Please select the "Student ticket ordered through Procurify" and or "Chaperone ticket ordered through Procurify" ticket options in Eventbrite. Complete the checkout process on Eventbrite. You will receive an email confirmation from Eventbrite once your order is complete. This is the first step in reserving your tickets. Immediately after you receive confirmation from Eventbrite you will move to step 2.

Step 2. Place an order for your tickets in Procurify. Search the name of this field trip in the Procurify catalog and complete your order just like you would for any other order. Your spot on this field trip will not be confirmed until you have placed your order in Procurify. Failure to place an order in Procurify within 3 days will result in being removed from the attendee list and having your funds manually deducted.

Does this trip have any height, weight, and/or age restrictions? All ages are welcome. Only one chaperone per family is allowed due to limited capacity. Each person who attends a field trip or event must be registered through Eventbrite. This applies to babies, toddlers, siblings, and adults. Individuals who have not registered will be asked to leave.

What are the check-in procedures? Meet HST Rachel Gray in front of the office at 9:50 a.m. HST will be in Heartland attire.

Is there on-site parking available? Park in front of the office, and carpool if possible.

Can we pack snacks or lunch for this event or field trip? Yes, trash cans are available.
