Overview

In this free mental health workshop for parents, you'll learn how to reduce conflict in your family by solving common behavior problems.

Workshop 3: Reducing Conflict with Kids by Solving Common Behavior Problems

This is the third in a series of free workshops for parents focusing on children and teen mental health. The workshops are led by family psychologist Dr. Paul Sunseri. Note you don't need to have attended the prior two workshops. Parents only, no kids please!

Rates of depression, anxiety, and self-harm in young people have been increasing for the past decade leading up to what is now a mental health crisis. The workshops focus on what you as a parent can do to reverse the crisis, help your child or teen’s mental health, and lower the probability of your child developing a mental health problem.

In this workshop, you'll learn how to have a more peaceful home life by knowing exactly how to get kids to:

Do their homework without a fight

Be respectful and accept "no"

Get up on their own to an alarm and be ready for school on time

Do chores around the house without complaining and by asking them only once

Follow family rules by using consequences that actually work instead of ones that don't

Get their driver's license and a part-time job

And more! Bring any behavior problem you're struggling with and Dr. Sunseri will show you how to solve it.

About the Speaker:

Dr. Sunseri has almost 40 years of clinical experience working with children and families. He has published research on how families can help with a child’s mental health condition, and he is the author of Family-Focused Therapy for Child and Adolescent Mental Health: A New Paradigm.
