Food Writing Intensive Workshop with J.M. Hirsch
Learn the storytelling techniques that take years to master—in just three hours with award-winning journalist J.M. Hirsch.
Join J.M. Hirsch, former national food editor at the Associated Press and editorial director of Christopher Kimball’s Milk Street, for a deep-dive workshop on how to find, report, and tell compelling food stories.
Over nearly three decades, Hirsch has reported on food around the world—from Bogotá to Bangkok, Liberia to London—developing a sharp instinct for the stories others overlook. In this focused, three-hour intensive, he’ll share the practical techniques behind finding untold stories, interviewing for vivid detail, and turning reporting into narratives readers can’t stop sharing.
This session is part of IACP’s Deep Dive Intensive Workshops, a new series designed to build the core skills food professionals rely on most. Each multi-session workshop offers concentrated, hands-on learning led by one of IACP’s most respected experts.
