Reconstructing Identity is an exploration of identity and diaspora through artistic practice, a pop-up exhibition of painting, photography, sculpture and drawings which explore the American, Cuban, Dominican, Haitian and Jamaican cultures.Curated by Donnamarie Baptiste, the exhibition features artwork from Christopher Carter, Duwane Coates, Morel Doucet, Adler Guerrier, Rhea Leonard, Franciso Maso, T Elliott Mansa, Kandy Lopez-Moreno, Sharon Norwood, Onajide Shabaka and Asser Saint Val.Exhibition Dates: June 6 - 27, 2019This Miami MoCAAD exhibit is made possible with the support of the Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs and the Cultural Affairs Council, the Miami-Dade County Mayor and Board of County Commissioners. Additional sponsors include Hampton Art Lovers, Southeast Overtown/Park West Community Redevelopment Agency and Sugarcane Magazine.
