Reconnect with Nature: Forest Bathing Sessions for Adults with Neurological conditions

Experience the therapeutic power of nature through our nature connection sessions, thoughtfully designed for adults with neurological conditions. The sessions aim to support people with neurological conditions such as brain injury, stroke, parkinson's disease, MS and others. The session will involve a mindful practice of connecting with your senses and immersing yourself in the calming effects of nature, where each session offers a unique opportunity to enhance your wellbeing.

This mindful connection with nature has been shown to reduce stress, lower blood pressure, and improve mood.

Led by experienced clinical psychologists and neuropsychologists, our sessions are tailored to accommodate various neurological conditions, aiming to provide an accessible and supportive environment. Each session includes:

  • Guided Nature connection: Slow-paced, guided mindfulness in the park
  • Sensory Engagement: Activities designed to heighten sensory awareness and connection with the environment.
  • Relaxation Techniques: Breathing exercises and mindfulness practices to promote relaxation.
  • Ending with a socail element if refreshments and snacks.

Frequently asked questions

Can I bring my dog?

We unfortunately cannot accommodate dogs on these guided nature sessions, as they tend to be a distraction. Assistance dogs are permitted.

What if it rains/the weather is bad?

We have arranged an accessible indoor space so that we can run indoor nature connection sessions should the weather be against us. Please dress appropriately for the weather forecast, as we will conduct as much of the sessions as possible outdoors in the park.

Can I bring a carer?

Our sessions are accessible, supported and planned with neurological conditions and related needs in mind. However, if you feel you would need a carer present to allow you to attend, please let us know at the time of booking. Any carers would ideally be happy to take part in the activities.

Do your sessions cover neurodivergence?

Unfortunately we are not currently able to offer sessions to people with neurodivergence such as Autism or ADHD. Our sessions are aimed at supporting people living with long term neurological conditions such as brain injury, stroke, Parkinson's disease and MS.
