ReCollections provides a dementia friendly environment for reminiscing and conversation while viewing and creating art!

Trained museum staff will lead conversations and art making during this interactive program held within the galleries of the museum. This specially designed program invites all individuals living with dementia and their loved ones to attend and connect with others, while engaging with the visual arts.

Join us at the San Antonio Museum of Art on June 21st 11:00 AM-12:30 PM for conversations and hands on activities, inspired by works of art in the museum.


Lunch, art supplies and parking will be provided, courtesy of Meals on Wheels SA/ Grace Place and the San Antonio Museum of Art. Attendees will also receive free admission for the museum for the day.

Frequently asked questions

Does this event cost anything?

This event is free. Free admission to the San Antonio Museum of art for the day after the event will be provided to registered attendees as well. Join us and then feel free to spend the rest of the day wandering the beautiful galleries of the SAMA.

Where do I park?

There is a parking lot directly in front of the SAMA. All registrants will receive free parking for that lot. More details will be provided after registration.

Do I need to bring anything? Supplies or food?

No! Just whatever you need to walk around the museum comfortably. Wheelchairs may be available for your use and plenty of seating throughout the event. Art supplies and lunch will be provided as well! No snacks are allowed in the museum, so please let us provide the lunch for you!

Do I need to know about art or have artistic abilities?

Everyone is welcome, including those who have never been to museum or held a paintbrush. All conversation and activities will be welcoming and guided to make it a comfortable and enjoyable event for all!
