Building Clinical Confidence in Perinatal Mental Health
This 2-hour clinical training is designed to strengthen providers’ confidence in recognizing, assessing, and responding to perinatal mental health concerns. Participants will review all six perinatal mood and anxiety disorders (PMADs), with particular emphasis on differentiating perinatal depression and anxiety, intrusive thoughts associated with perinatal OCD, and the warning signs of perinatal psychosis that require immediate intervention.
This training will explore key risk factors, clinical features, assessment considerations, and clinical decision-making strategies to support effective identification and response to perinatal mental health concerns. Providers will gain practical tools to improve assessment skills, determine appropriate interventions and referrals, and increase confidence in supporting perinatal clients and families.

Morgan Bradwell is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker, a certified perinatal mental health specialist through Postpartum Support International, and the Founder of Village Therapy Collective in Mobile, Alabama. Morgan specializes in supporting individuals through perinatal period, with a focus on increasing access to compassionate, evidence-based mental health care by equipping other providers with the knowledge and skills needed to better support perinatal clients.

By the end of this training, participants will be able to:
- Differentiate between normative postpartum adjustment and signs of perinatal mood and anxiety disorders (PMADs).
- Identify key risk factors, clinical features, and assessment considerations for perinatal depression, perinatal OCD, and perinatal psychosis, including indicators that warrant immediate intervention.
- Apply assessment strategies and clinical decision-making frameworks to determine appropriate intervention, referral, and support for individuals experiencing perinatal mental health concerns.
