Rec2Tech is an initiative of the City of Pittsburgh to deliver high-level tech skills to students we serve in our recreation centres.

Student Must Register by Monday, July 6th, 2020 Placement will be on a first come first serve basis.Rec2Tech is an initiative of the City of Pittsburgh to transform the City’s Recreation Centers into places where community members can access technology and innovative programming. This initiative has a specific focus on creating equitable access to some of Pittsburgh’s most vulnerable communities to ensure that all residents are equipped with the tools necessary to be successful in the jobs of the future.Student Must Register by Monday, July 6th, 2020 Placement will be on a first come first serve basis.In order to ensure the protection of children attending this virtual coding camp we will enforce the following protocol:All participants under the age of 18 must be registered by a parent/guardian. (Perhaps in the participant info we collect the parent info and the name/contact for the participant) The workshop facilitator will be sharing his screen with participants and viewing participant screens in order to help with any program challenges that a child might run into. The majority of the course will be implemented this way. A parent can decide if they want to use the camera mode for the participant during the camp. Workshop participants will not have access to private chats and all camp related interactions will be monitored and facilitated by the workshop instructor.
