Reading & Understanding Sewing Patterns

Jamila Madyun graduated from Savannah College of Art and Design with a BFA in Fashion Design. After graduation she moved to NYC and gained industry experience working alongside fashion designer Tracy Reese. She has worked as a lead sewing instructor for Arena Stage summer arts program, and a volunteer instructor with DC Threads Sewing Lounge.From that enriching experience, in 2014 she founded her own design company, "Stitched With Style" which specializes in the development of aspriring designers and sewing enthusiast. Her company offers various classes, workshops, and private instruction for children and adults. Students under her instruction learn fashion sewing, illustration design, pattern making, draping and alterations.

Even though a sewing pattern might be labeled "easy" or "quick," the pattern instruction writers sometimes assume that you have a certain amount of general sewing knowledge. Nothing can be more intimidating than trying to figure out all the information on the various parts of a pattern. 
Don't have a pattern panic attack! Come and join this workshop so I can break everything down for you and lead you on the way to creating clothing.

  Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?
No, you can bring an ID or show the tickets on your mobile device. 
 What can/can't I bring to the event?
Nothing is required for this workshop, however you can bring a commercial pattern that is difficult for you to fully understand.
 What is the refund policy?
All classes and workshops are non refundable, and there are no class credit allowed, however a friend can be sent in your place 
The name on the registration/ticket doesn't match the attendee. Is that okay?
