About this event
Inspired by the hit Reading Rhythms in NYC, we want to bring the experience of a reading party to Charleston!
Come for an evening designed to make it easy for people to gather and read socially. We invite you to bring any book you want and we’ll facilitate quiet reading periods, as well as breakouts, and group discussions to pull on the threads and themes of the books that everyone is engaging with.
Our goal is to create a welcoming place for meaningful connections around books we love.
Instead of just going out for a drink, we are bringing readers together to reconnect with our love of learning, to inspire insightful conversations, and to experience a special evening with other people who love to read. Come with a friend or come by yourself and make new friends!
With your ticket purchase, babas will provide aperitivo-style snacks! There will also be drinks and coffees available for purchase.
Early Bird Tickets: $25 for the first 25 people!
Regular Pricing: $30 per ticket
There is limited seating! So grab your ticket and save your spot.

Frequently asked questions
Street parking is available on Meeting St. and Morrison St. There is additional parking on Lenox St under the overpass. babas has a small parking lot with a couple of spaces as well. *Please do not park in the gravel lot, that is for Heavy's Burgers customers only*
Your ticket includes babas aperitivo-style snacks! There will not be any additional food available for purchase.
Just bring a book of your choice to read! We will provide some discussion topics for small groups and snacks. Beverages will be available for purchase.
All ticket sales are final, there will be no refunds given for this event.
Come at 6:00 pm so you can get your name tag, order a drink from the bar, and find a seat :) We’ll then have two 30-minute blocks of reading time and offer some prompts for guided small-group conversations afterwards. It will be a thoughtful, low-key environment for reading socially.
