Read for the Record
Read for the Record hopes to raise awareness for early literacy by having children and adults read the same book on the same day.
Join MPB as we celebrate reading in conjunction with Jumpstart's Read for the Record Day on October 26. This initiative stands as the globe's foremost collective reading event. The goal is to champion and nurture the early literacy and social-emotional growth of children. On this one day, we will come together and bond through the act of reading.
We hope you will pledge to read to someone in your family, your neighborhood, or your local school. You can be as creative as you like by incorporating other activities into your read-aloud. You can find some Jumpstart activities here.
Whatever you decide to do, make it memorable!
Parents, teachers, siblings, grandparents, community members, leaders, and all willing readers are invited to join in this celebration of reading. Let us know how your reading went. Send us a photo to education@mpbonline.org, or tag us on Facebook (@MPBEducation) or Instagram (@MPB_Education).
