Re-Fest | Data-Confluences¹: Sculptural Iterations

CultureHub is an incubator for creativity focused on the intersection of art and technology. The workshop invites participants to share environmental information online to build together an algorithmic sculptural transduction.

Data-Confluences¹: Sculptural Iterations1: a coming or flowing together, meeting, or gathering at one pointArtists, designers, and anyone interested in generative design are invited to join this workshop facilitated by Clarissa Ribeiro. Exploring generative design strategies, we will use specific input values in a Grasshopper definition to have as an outcome algorithmic transduction from a confluence of data – extracted from shared 30 seconds video/audio captures from the places we inhabit – entangled information crystalized in 3D objects that remind us of the need of getting together.Register here on Eventbrite to receive a link to the workshop which will take place on Zoom. Participants will be invited to produce short videos and upload in advance of the workshop. Free softwares Audacity (open-source) and Grasshopper (trial version) will be used during the workshop. Upon registration, participants will receive an e-mail with detailed instructions on how to prepare for the workshop.Clarissa Ribeiro, architect, media artist and researcher, Ph.D. in Arts (ECA USP Brazil/CAiiA hub of The Planetary Collegium, UK), Fulbright Postdoctoral Scholarship awardee (UCLA, Art|Sci Center/James Gimzewski Lab, US), M.Arch.
