Two years after John announced on our honeymoon that he wanted to quit his job and "do something in cheese," we unlocked the front door to our very own cheese shop on February 11, 2010. We've been asked many times since, "Why a Cheese Shop?" and the answer is simple. After putting ourselves through cheese bootcamps, running a cheese club out of our house, attending cheese conferences, interning for French affineur Herve Mons, journeying through Europe, and eating our way through thousands of tasty cheese morsels, we honed in on our true passions: eating, talking, traveling, and spending time together. Over a bottle of wine one evening, we realized that working behind a cheese case would bring them all together.Ignoring all evidence of a down economy we went for it. The result is our cheese shop where we focus on sourcing the finest artisanal cheese and providing cut to order service in a relaxed, "taste before you buy" environment. Nestled into historic Hyde Park, our business has since grown to include a Cheese House. While the Cheese Shop remains our dedicated retail space, our Cheese House, located directly across the street, allows us to better serve the growing demand by our restaurant partners and customers for more cheese education.While you're visiting our website, you'll find many photos of the products we offer. Unfortunately you can't taste them through your screen. So come by the shop and let our passionate team of cheesemongers do what they do best: guide you through the case sharing the stories of their favorite products and offering small tastes to make you smile. Antonelli's Cheese Shop

Our "One-of-a-Kind" series delves deep into a particular group of cheeses, allowing you to taste the nuances within the category. In honor of Raw Milk Cheese Appreciation Week this class will focus on cheeses from around the world that are made from Raw Milk. If you have ever wondered what the fuss is all about, this is the class for you. Join us as we delve into the raw milk discussion, (what makes it raw, what are the benefits of raw milk, what are the laws surrounding raw milk and cheese, etc.) and taste 7 different cheeses. As always, the tasting will be accompanied by olives, nuts, and Easy Tiger bread. We'll also bring out a number of additional pairings like chutneys and charcuterie bites, depending on that evening's cheese selection. 
 
Schedule:
6-6:30 Our Cheese Shop is open for beer, wine, or cider purchases that have been selected to accompany the cheeses featured. (Guests are also welcome to BYOB for a $4 setup fee)
6:15 Doors open
6:30 Tasting begins
8 Tasting wraps up
8-8:30 You and your guests finish snacking and mingle while your cheesemongers cut-to-order any cheese from the class that you'd like to purchase so you can re-create the tasting at home. Personal delivery of cheese directly to your chair. Does it get any better than that?
 
Ticket Info:
Each class is $40 plus fees. Once you click to purchase tickets, you will only have 5 minutes to complete your order. To pay with a gift card, call our events department at 512-531-9610 ext. 3 with your card number and pin number. 
 
Once purchased, tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable to other dates.  If you're unable to purchase one or more tickets, that means they are sold out. Please sign up for our waitlist (once per person); we are often able to accommodate guests off this list.
 
Lastly, remember that you can come into the Cheese Shop anytime and taste cheese for free. Our cheesemongers are here to guide you through the case and answer any questions.
