UPDATE 2: We have over 50 participants registered! Shaping up to be an awesome day.   If you can only come for an hour or two that's completely fine (though we encourage everyone to join the workshops throughout the day!).   We'll do workshops on IoT, wireless mesh networking, and local content creation.  Invite your friends!

We're thrilled to announce the 2nd Annual Cape Town Raspberry Jam/Makeathon/Hackfest!!
The #CapeJam is an open event for makers and hackers of all ages to get together and create anything and everything awesome using Raspberry Pi's, Arduinos and other microcontrollers.  Participants can bring their own projects and hardware, or just drop in and see what others are working on! We'll bring extra RPis, monitors, peripherals and sensors.  It's Raspberry Pi's Big Birthday Weekend - so there will be similar events being held <A HREF="https://www.raspberrypi.org/jam/big-birthday-weekend/" TARGET="_blank" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">all around the world</A>!
Tinkerers, journalists, designers, activists, and data junkies are all welcome.  We strongly encourage projects that aim to solve real-world challenges in Cape Town. 
We will have a training space for those who want to dabble with scratch and/or sensors, and at the end of the day we'll raffle off some prizes!
Last year the event was held in CBD at 75 Harrington Street (https://www.instagram.com/p/Bf8FtbTHskS/), and this year will be even bigger and better in Harare Square, Khayelitsha.
VPUU (http://vpuu.org.za) will graciously be providing a central and secure venue and arranging catering.

We'll be arranging carpools from town and other locations.  If you can drive or need a ride let us know!
