Rangatahi Voices for Change Workshop
Te Whatu Ora, the Cancer Society, and the Regional Kai Network Advocacy Group are offering rangatahi an opportunity to learn and develop skills in promoting positive change. Feedback from workshops held in schools last year indicated that participants' understanding and confidence in driving change significantly improved, and they appreciated the opportunity to network with other colleges.
Why are we offering this?
Our aim is to enable students to use their voice for change in an area of health, democracy, human rights or civics that they are passionate about. We will provide resources, inspiring speakers and workshop time.
The workshop will include a diversity of speakers in the morning session; those with extensive experience in advocacy as well as dynamic young people involved in amazing mahi. The afternoon session will focus on workshops in small groups and putting advocacy into practice.
Mā mua ka kite a muri, mā muri ka ora a mua
Those who lead give sight to those who follow, those who follow give life to those who lead.
