What to Bring:

Remember to pack your essentials for the pickleball tournament: paddles, balls, lawn or folding chair, hat, sunglasses, sweat-proof sunscreen, lip protectant with SPF, cash, and your game face!

Water will be provided for all. We will have snacks, electrolyte drinks, and other items available for purchase.

Tournament Guidelines:
This is a doubles tournament for novice up to 3.5 ranked players ages 14 and above. There will be three brackets: Men's Doubles, Women's Doubles, and Mixed Doubles. Each bracket will follow a Round-Robin format with games played to 15 points. Rally scoring will apply, with a win occurring at 15 points regardless of serve. In case of ties,head-to-head outcome will determine placement; if a tie persists, point differentials from the round-robin results will be used.

The event will be open to players of varying experience levels, from novice to those with a 3.5 ranking. The number of games played will depend on the number of teams registered (so encourage your friends and family to sign up).

Self-policing for foot faults, kitchen intrusion, in/out calls, and scoring will be followed, unless a dispute arises. A designated tournament official will be assigned to each court, and in case of disputes, their ruling will be final. Any unresolved disputes will result in a double forfeit for both teams.

Each partner on a team determines which side of the pickleball court (the left side or the right side) to start on. Then, each partner remains on those respective sides throughout the entire game. (However, a team may switch sides of the pickleball court on a time out or end change.)

Registration:
Registration opens on Friday, March 29, and will be accepted until 6 PM on Wednesday, May 1st. The registration fee is $100 per team. Second team members must complete registration by electronically signing their waiver form by Wednesday, May 1st. Pre-registration and payment are mandatory. There will be NO ONSITE registration available on the day of the event. Each bracket will accept a maximum of 16 teams, with a waitlist.

Weather:
The courts are outdoors. In case of inclement weather or any unforeseen circumstances, every effort will be made to complete the matches. If adverse conditions arise during the event, decisions regarding continuation will be made on a case-by-case basis to determine if matches can be finished or if winners can be determined.

Refund Policy:
Refunds will be issued, minus a $20 processing fee, for withdrawals from the tournament up to 6 PM on Wednesday, April 24, 2024. No refunds will be granted after this deadline. To withdraw from the tournament, please contact Melissa Moulton or Kim Hedges at Titus County Cares, 903-575-9157.
