Most founders need to raise money to fund their startup. But many founders fail to raise funds because they either:


  • Can't get investors to respond to their outreach, and/or
  • Their pitch fails to tell a story about a de-risked startup.


Many founders resort to a "spray and pray" approach to reach out to investors. But spamming lots of investors rarely works. Instead, learn how to align your outreach with the Startup Investor Pitch Lifecycle. We'll quickly show how to connect with an investor, nurture a relationship, and make the right type of ask at the right time to maximize the chances of a response.


And once an investor responds, founders need to deliver a story about a de-risked startup that is:

  • Compelling


Join us for this live, in-person training class and investor pitch event. Network with other founders while enjoying a light dinner. Meet startup advisors and investors. Watch other founders pitch a panel of investors and learn from the feedback given.


If you want to APPLY TO BE ONE OF THE THREE finalists who will be selected to pitch our panel of investors, then sign up for one of six pitch audition tickets. Founders who sign up for the pitch ticket will get:

  • A private 1-hour pitch preparation class held on Monday, May 13, 2024 at 2pm-3pm. We want to help founders know how to deliver a great investor pitch.
  • A 1-on-1 coaching session with Sam Wong, startup coach and investor to practice delivering your pitch. This coaching session is your audition to pitch the investors. We will also help prepare you to deliver the best pitch you can. Auditions must be scheduled Tue., May 14 through Fri., May 17.
  • After the auditions are completed, we'll select 3 finalists to pitch at the live event on Wed., May 22. Every applicant have at least a 50% chance of being selected to pitch the investor panel.
  • Three free passes to the live event on Wed., May 22. Note that all 6 applicants who purchase a pitch ticket will get these three free passes, regardless of whether or not your startup is selected to pitch to the investors live.

Note: founders selected to pitch the investors must do so in person. The practice pitches and coaching will be done over Zoom, but the live pitches must be done in real life.

How do I apply to pitch the startup investors at this event?

If you want to pitch the startup investors, then purchase one of the six pitch audition tickets, attend the group training class, and schedule an audition / coaching session.

Can I deliver the live pitch to the panel of investors remotely over a Zoom link?

No. All pitches on the day of the event must be delivered in person, onsite.

What does the pitch audition ticket give me?

If you purchase one of the six pitch audition tickets, you'll get: * A private 1-hour pitch class, * A 30-minute 1-on-1 coaching session to deliver your pitch, * At least a 50% chance of pitching the investors, * 3 free general admission passes to register for the live pitch event

If I buy the pitch audition ticket, when will the private 1-hour pitch class be held?

The private 1-hour pitch class will be held on Monday, May 13, 2024 from 2pm-3pm. If you purchase the pitch audition ticket, we'll send you a meeting invite with a Zoom link for the 1-hour pitch class. Attending this class is not mandatory, but STRONGLY RECOMMENDED.

What will the 1-hour private pitch class for the auditioning founders cover?

The 1-hour private pitch class covers the following highlights from our library of over 8 hours of fundraising & pitch training: 1) Basic sales skills, 2) Storytelling, 3) Pitch deck slides & de-risking, 4) Pitch delivery.

What criteria will you use to select one of the three finalists to pitch in-person to the investors?

We'll choose finalists who are: 1) clear, 2) concise, 3) comprehensive, 4) catchy, and 5) compelling. #5 will be heavily weighted. #1 and #2 will be moderately weighted. #3 and #4 will be lightly weighted.

If I purchase the pitch audition ticket, when will I know if I've been selected to pitch?

We'll select the 3 startups to pitch no later than Sat., May 18 at 5pm Pacific Time.

Why do you charge a fee to purchase one of the six pitch audition tickets?

The fee pays for the chance to participate in the 1-hour group training class & the 30-minute 1-on-1 pitch audition / coaching session. You'll also get 3 free passes to attend the live event, which includes dinner. The audition ticket fee is much less than the cost of private training & coaching.

If I buy the pitch audition ticket, when will the private 1-on-1 coaching session be?

When you purchase the pitch audition ticket, you'll be given a link where you can schedule a 30-minute meeting on Sam Wong's calendar. You can book any time that is available between Tue., May 14 at 9am and Fri., May 17 at 4:30pm. This 1-on-1 coaching session serves as your pitch audition session.

What if I buy a pitch audition ticket and cannot attend the audition or live event?

Unfortunately, because there are only 6 pitch audition tickets available, they are non-refundable. We expect these audition tickets to sell out so please make sure you are able to schedule the audition and attend in person if selected to pitch to the investors.

Will the live pitch class and investor pitches be broadcast to remote viewers?

No, we do not have any plans for any public broadcasts of the live pitch class and investor pitches.

Can you accommodate my special dietary requirements?

We plan to have a vegetarian option, but unfortunately are not able to accommodate any other special dietary preferences.

Where do I park for this event?

The Procopio office complex has plenty of free parking.
