About this event

Everything, even YOUR, has a vibrational frequency!

When connecting through soothing sound and vibration, our bodies are affected on a cellular level, allowing energy flow back toward healthy alignment. Stress creates an unhealthy flow of energy. At first it may appear as low energy, and, later, as ill health.

We have combined our favorite vibrational practices in one soothing day. The vibrations from being with the sounds of instruments, chanting particular sounds and mantras and releasing in meditation can help activate or balance the different chakras, aligning them or helping to improve the flow of energy throughout the body. We will connect with one another to create a communal sound while also deepening your personal practice with techniques and maybe a few new tools.

Sound Restores

Sound is an effective and natural way to mend the body, mind, and spirit. It can be used to treat a wide variety of conditions, both physical and mental. If you are looking for an alternative to help you relax, reduce stress, or improve your overall health, this retreat could be the perfect fit for you.

In the descriptions below is our various offerings that will be a part of this day. Be sure to also check out the agenda for all that is offered.

$148.00 investment and Lunch is included. Mala Kits are available and range in cost from $15-$60.

Introduction to Mantra: In our modern-day practice, we hear “mantra” and it is as mainstream as “intention.” Actually, they are quite different. Mantra is an instrument of the mind- a powerful vibration or sound that you can use to enter a deep state of meditation. The word mantra can be broken down into two parts: “man” or mind and “tra” which means transport or vehicle. Mantra literally means to transport the mind. Intention is what you hope to bloom. Mantra can be thought of as a seed that you water, care for and tend. The more fertile the soil and nurturing of your mantra, with time your intention can bear fruit.

During this portion of the Raise your Vibration Retreat, we will be learning the power of vibration and how to use mantra in your daily practice.

Grounding Meditation

We will begin our retreat with a grounding meditation. If at any time during retreat, you find yourself drifting, being distracted or preoccupied, it is possible that you are being drawn away from your connection to your life source or the energy of the Earth. It is important to come back to your centered place when you are feeling out of sorts, unbalanced, emotionally agitated, on the edge of things, confused, bewildered, fuzzy, or stressed. Most likely, in today’s fast-paced environment, it is simple to become disoriented and lose one’s bearings. Grounding yourself during this meditation will help us connect to the present moment. Together we will experience a simple grounding meditation that can be extremely effective at rebalancing your mind, reducing stress and anxiety and focus your mind and energy.

Yoga- With mantra woven in

The practice of chanting a mantra is considered one of the easiest yet powerful forms of meditation. During our yoga practice we will weave together a practice that focuses on chanting the sacred syllables along with conscious breathing and posture to quiet the mind, cultivate spiritual energy, and create states of enlightenment.

Our Mixed Flow classes offer options for everyone! The Mixed Flow class is a vinyasa style practice that prepares the body with a gentle flowing warm up, works into poses that we hold to build strength, includes a balancing posture, and moves into deeper floor stretches at the end of class. This is our most popular class, that gives you many choices in most postures, versus practicing with a one-size fits all approach. This class is ideal for anyone that is comfortable moving down to the floor, and back up to standing, several times throughout the one hour practice. It is the perfect combination of effort and surrender.

Meaning of Om

Learn all about OM! What could we possibly learn about this simple word?

1) Om is the primordial sound of the universe

2) Why meditate on Om

3) Symbolism of Om

4) Universal access of Om

5) How to chant Om

Kirtan

The word “kirtan” stems from a Sanskrit root that means “to cut through,” so kirtan is the practice of cutting through the separation of our bodies and connecting to our hearts and the moment through sound. What you may experience is the Kirtan leader beginning by singing a mantra, followed by the rest of the group singing it back. The beauty of Kirtan is that in the beginning you may hear your own voice and the individual voices around you. But as time passes and you relax into the chant, you may notice your voice in harmony with everyone else’s. By the end of this experience, we hope for our perspectives to shift, and we are creating as one collective voice.

Please join us for Kirtan and Nada Yoga, the science of Divine Vibration. You will experience peace of mind, relaxation, and joy while chanting and listening to ancient, traditional Mantras, devotional songs, and Rasa’s original compositions with Yogic themes. Rasa and Gautama will share some of their favorite chants and encourage you to sing along!

Bead and a Prayer: Build your own Mala

We will begin with an intention setting meditation for only You can create the change that you want in your life. You know your most heartfelt desires, intentions, and goals. When you make your own mala you are setting your intentions with each knot you tie, each bead you string. You are manifesting your intentions into a physical creation that will be a constant reminder for you of your desired actions, emotions, and life path.

Why build your own mala? Sure, you can buy one, but this is a sacred, personal tool and your intention and goals now live and breath within its energy. And just like anything else that is homemade, it’s just better! It now holds the most important ingredient. LOVE. Each time you caress your fingers over all 108 beads, place it around your neck, you will be reminded of the time, love and commitment you gave to yourself, your future and your greatest intentions.

Closing Meditation and Japa Mala

Japa mindfulness is the practice of using your mala beads to chant a mantra or a prayer aloud. The word Japa means muttering in Sanskrit. The meditative practice of Japa keeps the human mind steady and resistant to disturbance. It requires chanting the same mantra, which could be a single word (e.g., Om) or a string of mantric sounds (e.g., Om Namah Shivaya). The practice of mantra chanting, or Japa creates beneficial mental pathways, assisting us in gradually connecting with our spiritual energy. It is a strong technique for focusing the mind and harnessing the subtle powers of the body/mind completing the yogic path of self-transformation. As we practice mantra using our new intention-based malas, it is essential to chant or hum the mantra repeatedly. The key element of meditation is to repeat the Mantra silently or aloud. It can be repeated as slowly or quickly as necessary to keep one's mind focused.
