Ever thought about raising sheep or goats, or just curious what it takes to care for them? This immersive class is your chance to step onto the farm, roll up your sleeves, and learn directly from experts.

What You’ll Experience

  • Hands-on animal care: Learn how to handle sheep and goats, perform basic health checks, and understand what it takes to keep them thriving.
  • Pasture walks and regenerative grazing: Explore 25+ pastures as we teach you how to grow nutrient-dense forage, transform poor soils without chemicals, and manage land through rotational grazing.
  • Forage identification: Discover how to spot healthy grasses, legumes, and brassicas, and why polyculture pastures make stronger farms.
  • Real farm insights: Even if you do not own animals, this is your chance to see what goes into grass-fed dairy and meat production and why Whispering Pines products are so sought after.
  • Opportunities and resources: We will share available grants for new farmers and pathways to get plugged in for future volunteering, especially during lambing and kidding season.

Who It’s For

  • New and aspiring homesteaders
  • Current livestock owners looking to improve care and land management
  • Anyone curious about farm life and sustainable food systems

Why Join Us

No matter how much land you have, whether it is one acre or one hundred, this class will show you how to make the most of it. You will leave with the confidence to start or improve your own operation and a deeper appreciation for what it takes to raise animals and grow real food.
