This virtual mother-daughter retreat provides a nurturing and affirming environment for young women in the LGBTQIA+ community and their mothers to bond, learn, and grow together, fostering deeper understanding, acceptance, and empowerment within family relationships.

Virtual Event

Our goal is to create a safe and supportive space for mothers and daughters in the LGBTQIA+ community to bond, promote understanding, and generate revenue while showcasing Liberation Sisters. This virtual mother-daughter retreat provides a nurturing and affirming environment for young women in the LGBTQIA+ community and their mothers to bond, learn, and grow together, fostering deeper understanding, acceptance, and empowerment within family relationships. This will be a three-day event to provide experiences designed to increase your bond with your daughter and to promote relaxation, rejuvenation, and personal reflection through activities like guided meditation, yoga sessions, and wellness workshops.

Please note: You have the option of attending 1 day, 2 days or the entire event.

Agenda

Day 1: Welcome and Connection ( 2 Hours)

• Welcome and Introductions
• Setting intentions for the retreat and creating a supportive atmosphere.
• Panel Discussion: LGBTQIA+ Identity and Family Dynamics (60 minutes):** A panel of speakers shares experiences and insights on navigating LGBTQIA+ identity within the family, followed by a Q&A session.
• Breakout Sessions: Mother-Daughter Bonding - Participants split into smaller groups for guided discussions and activities focused on understanding and bonding.

Day 2: Empowerment and Growth ( 2 Hours )

• Morning Meditation and Yoga Session
• Workshop: Embracing Authenticity and Self-Love
• Breakout Sessions: Expressive Arts
• Virtual Spa Hour and Product Showcase ** Guided relaxation and self-care activities, accompanied by showcasing Liberation Sisters products and services.

Day 3: Celebration and Reflection ( 2 hours )

• Morning Gratitude Circle
• Creative Workshop: Vision Boarding and Goal Setting
• Closing Ceremony and Celebration - A final ceremony to celebrate accomplishments, affirm bonds, and set intentions for continued growth and support beyond the retreat.

Liberations Sisters is a community-based public service provider out of Baltimore, Maryland. We are committed to empowering girls and young women to thrive through evidence-based therapeutic therapy, prenatal and postnatal care, and tailored housing options to help young women independently transition into adulthood. Our unique approach ensures that each young woman receives the support and guidance she needs to become the best version of herself.

By bringing awareness and creating safe spaces in the community we can go one step. Further in decreasing these incidents for African American women.

Our services support girls and young women who are facing the following factors:

• Young girls and women exposed to domestic violence.
• Young girls and women with emotional and developmental disabilities at risk of homelessness
• Homeless and runaway girls
• Pregnant and parenting teens
• Victims of child abuse and neglect
• Young women in and aging out of the foster care system or stepping down from a previous placement organization.
• The LGTBQA community
