About the instructor

Jodie Chock is a full time visual arts educator at Kalāheo High School. She earned her BFA in Painting at the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa and is currently a student in the MFA Program at Savannah College of Art and Design. Her work focuses around her cultural identity as a resident of Hawai‘i.

For the artwork exhibited in the Schaefer Portrait Challenge, Jodie used a process that integrated paper cranes into her painting. She has prepared a demonstration of her favorite materials to collage with hand-folded paper cranes.
