We decided to create the kind of community space and representation that we had been searching for.

<h2>Get ready to be enchanted by our new Queer Sci-fi and Fantasy Program on August 25th!</h2>For a category of fiction built on imagining strange and futuristic worlds, mainstream science fiction and fantasy tends to depict gender and sexuality in rather, well, archaic ways. Time to stop settling for sci-fi where the only queer content is a quick background kiss between two cis gay men (we are looking at you, Star Wars) and join us for our first ever Queer Sci-Fi and Fantasy Showcase on August 25 at 8:00pm EST. Whether you’re in the mood for intergalactic space travel, queer superheroes, or vision-gifting rocks, we’ve got you covered with a slate of films that are out of this world!The Bush Films is an intersectional queer film series dedicated to showcasing work about queer women, trans, and non-binary people. Our monthly screenings provide a platform for filmmakers to connect with queer audiences of varying races, cultures, gender identities, and religions who need to see themselves represented on screen. And now that we’re online, we can connect queers all over the world.*How it works:We will be sending an email with the screener link between 5 and 6 p.m. EST the day of the screening (August 25). If by 7 p.m. EST you HAVEN'T GOTTEN THE LINK, please email us before 7:40 p.m. EST. Please be aware that as soon as we start the screening at 8:00 p.m. EST, we will not be able to answer emails.
