Pack a queer-authored or queer-centered book, a blanket to lounge on, and your favorite snacks, and join us for an afternoon of literary delight, sunny summer-time vibes, and QTBIPOC fellowship at Lake Merritt. 📚🥂🏳️🌈☀️
How to find us
We are going to post up on a grassy area of Lake Merritt. Look up directions to 2099 Lakeshore Ave, Oakland, CA 94606 ( use Google Maps for accuracy). The cross streets are Lakeshore and Wayne. Look out for colorful balloons.
What Are We Reading?
Let's celebrate Pride by diving into books by queer authors or ones that center around queer characters. Extra kudos for selecting works by QTBIPOC authors and characters! Choose any genre that speaks to you, whether it's sci-fi, romance, YA, a collection of short stories, or anything in between.
Just bring a book and let's celebrate the diverse voices and stories within the LGBTQ+ community together. Need help selecting a book? Here is a recommended list including multiple works of fiction on theme!

Everyone is welcome to continue lounging and reading in each other’s company while enjoying the sunny vibes after 4 PM. The official event will end at 4 PM.
