About this event

  • 2 hours

Welcome to "Queer Friendships," an event exclusively crafted for the queer community that emphasizes the power of mindfulness, community building, and authentic connections. Our dedication lies in creating safe, inclusive, and nurturing spaces that facilitate transformation and meaningful interactions among wonderful queers like you.

Why You Should Join Us:

  • To be part of a nourishing and inclusive environment where you can be your authentic self.
  • To meet and mingle with other members of the queer community who are eager to form genuine friendships.
  • To engage in activities designed to foster deep connections and personal growth.

What to Expect: Our gathering begins with a calming meditation session to help ground us in the present moment and prepare our hearts and minds for genuine connection. Following this tranquil start, we'll move into introductions, giving everyone a chance to share a bit about themselves in a warm, welcoming atmosphere.

The core of our event features guided authentic connection prompts led by Alex Castro. These prompts are carefully designed to encourage open, heartfelt interactions, allowing you to forge meaningful connections with others in the group.

Our time together will conclude on a healing note with a sound bath meditation, an experience meant to soothe the soul and deepen our sense of community and belonging.

But the connection doesn't end there! We will cap off our event by going out to eat as a group, providing a relaxed setting for further conversation, laughter, and bonding.

What to Bring: An open heart, an open mind, and your wonderful self. Comfortable clothing recommended for meditation and sitting.

Join us at "Queer Friendships" for an afternoon of mindfulness, community, and unforgettable connections. Whether you're looking to meet new friends, deepen your mindfulness practice, or simply enjoy a day surrounded by fellow queers in a supportive environment, this event is for you.

Spaces are limited to ensure a cozy and intimate setting, so secure your spot early! We can't wait to welcome you and together create a space filled with love, understanding, and beautiful friendships.

Who is Alex Castro?

Alexandra Castro is a passionate mindfulness coach who values authentic connection, personal growth, and mindfulness. She believes we are on this earth to come soul-to-soul and help each other become the most authentic version of ourselves.

She serves the queer community, who have been generally underrepresented in the mindfulness space, offering a safe space to transform and connect. Her purpose is to incorporate mindfulness into the LGBTQIA+ community and help individuals live a more fulfilled life by connecting deeply with who they are and enhancing their mental wellness through mindfulness and connection.

Alexandra now leads a mindfulness group called LGBTQMindfulness and has started a mindfulness movement in the LGBTQIA+ community. She is a meditation and mindfulness instructor and completed her certification with the Natural Wellness Institute and The Path. She continued to deepen her spiritual practice by becoming certified as a Yoga Instructor with Yoga Flow in San Francisco. She facilitates LGBTQMindfulness Retreats Internationally in order to create a space for the Queer community to align back to themselves and their power within. In addition, she conducts sound baths and is an authentic connection facilitator as well. She is passionate about creating different environments where the LGBTQIA+ community can authentically connect with themselves and one another.
