About this event

  • 7 days 2 hours

Come paddle the Allagash River with us in August! We’re so excited to take a group of queer folks into the North Maine Woods (Wabanaki Confederacy Territory) to this very special river for a week of canoeing and building queer community. This trip is for people who are new to canoeing or want to develop their canoe tripping skills in a queer-centered environment. Experienced trip leaders will instruct participants in the basics of paddling, navigation, setting up camp, and other backcountry skills. We’ll canoe, swim, explore, camp, and enjoy the Allagash in queer community!

Experience required: none

Exertion level: Level 3: For people who regularly exercise. Participants should be comfortable climbing stairs, carrying weight, swimming, and balancing their body weight. Participants should be capable of paddling 4-8 hours each day and will be sleeping in tents. Reach out to us with any questions or concerns about if this trip is right for you.
