BAF is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization focused on legitimizing blockchain in academia by starting accredited blockchain courses, hosting high-quality conferences, running hackathons, streamlining collaboration between academic blockchain researchers, processing crypto-based donations on behalf of student organizations, supporting blockchain entrepreneurs, and much more. The organization is composed of the blockchain clubs and key faculty members at UCLA, USC, UCI, UCSD, UCSB, Caltech, Cal Poly Slo, CSUN, Moorpark College, UC Davis, and UNAM (the largest university in Mexico).
