Simone Pieranni è tra le voci italiane più autorevoli sulla Cina e sull'Asia contemporanee. Giornalista, autore e podcaster, ha lavorato a lungo per il manifesto, dove ha diretto la redazione esteri dal 2014 al 2022. Oggi è responsabile dei podcast di Chora Media, per cui cura i podcast settimanali Altri Orienti e Fuori da qui.Il suo ultimo libro, Lo specchio americano. Lo sguardo della Cina sugli Stati Uniti (Mondadori, 2026), segue il fortunato 2100. Come sarà l'Asia, come saremo noi (Mondadori, 2024), finalista al Premio Strega Saggistica 2025.In dialogo con Luisa Venturin, Pieranni esplora le grandi trasformazioni dell'Oriente e il loro impatto sull'Europa — e viceversa — traducendo la complessità in racconto accessibile, capace di intrecciare geopolitica ed economia, tecnologia e identità sociale.
