Event description
An (digital) evening of ux, career coaching, and networking with other QTBIPOC designers

About this event

Are you looking to dive into UX as a career?

Do you want to spend your evening with other QTBIPOC designers?

We will be hosting an evening of UX, career coaching, and networking with our QTBIPOC design community.

Our schedule for 2021 (topics TBD and may be subject to change, time is 7-9p ET):

  • Tuesday, October 12, 2021: Inclusive principles for design teams with Raquel Breternitz (design leader, previously leading design for Elizabeth Warren, Aperture Health, and New York Times)
  • Tuesday, November 9, 2021: Let's talk money. How to manage your design business finances, rate, and budgeting.
  • Tuesday, December 14, 2021: The state of equity in design in 2021: where are we now, and where are we headed? (Panel featuring Real Canty, Maurice Cherry, Ube Urban)

Our sessions are typically divided into two parts:

  • First hour: education + Q&A
  • Second hour: networking + hangout with other QTBIPOC designers!

For our special talks with guest speakers, our talk + Q&A often takes up the entire time.

This session will be hosted digitally on Zoom. Spaces limited. The invite link should be emailed to you directly once you RSVP!

Your host: Steven Wakabayashi

Steven has led strategy and creative for the biggest companies in the world, including Apple, Alibaba, Walmart, Samsung, MasterCard, Sephora, and Salesforce.
