QRIS: E-3 Activities

Our online training classes are available to help early childhood professionals complete their required annual training hours and enhance their knowledge and skills to provide high-quality care for Nevada’s children.This platform is used for statewide web-based training courses and require registration on both Eventbrite and GoToTraining.Supporting Early Education and Development (SEED) works collaboratively with other agencies to provide opportunities for education and training in the field of early childhood through workshops and self-guided training materials.The Children’s Cabinet must follow Nevada Registry training guidelines in issuing credit for our webinar training’s. The Nevada Registry states,  “To receive credit for attending a training, it is imperative that attendees be present at the training for the entire scheduled time frame. If the accumulated time out of class (including late arrivals, extended breaks and early departures) extends beyond 15 minutes total, then no class credit should be granted. Instructor: Marissa Meehan-GoffNevada Registry Approved Hours: 2.0Core Knowledge Area: Environment &amp; CurriculumDescription: The teachers attending this training will have a better understanding of what age appropriate activities and materials are for the children in their class per QRIS. They will also be more confident implementing these activities and understanding how they will improve their ERS scores.Training Objectives: <ol><li>Participants will be able to identify age appropriate materials.</li><li>Participants will understand how to incorporate a variety of activities into their daily routines.</li><li>Participants will be able to describe where these activities will impact their classroom score on the Environmental Rating Scale</li></ol>Each professional development session offered by The Children’s Cabinet utilizes a knowledge check to ensure that our participants understand our training objectives and our instructors are providing a comprehensive learning experience. You can expect to receive a three question quiz or test at the end of each training.
