QPR: Suicide Prevention Training

The FL LEADS project is a five-year, federally funded grant seeking to transform and improve suicide care practices, standards, and outcomes in health/behavioral health systems throughout rural and urban counties in northeast, northwest, central, and west Florida. Rooted in cultural competency and evidence-based research, this multi-system approach will implement the Zero Suicide (ZS) model. FL LEADS aims to reduce health disparities and inequalities that affect the lives of adults, ages 25 years and older, at risk for suicide and/or experiencing behavioral health disorders, serious mental illnesses, and substance abuse addictions.

Question. Persuade. Refer. These steps can save a life. Suicide Prevention is everyone's responsibility.

Question. Persuade. Refer. These steps can help save the lives of those that you work with, do life with, or randomly meet with who may be considering suicide. In less than 3 hours, you can become trained and well-versed in QPR. You’ll learn how to identify warning signs, how to respond to a crisis, and how to direct individuals to proper care.QPR is a nationally-used, evidenced-based training that assists people in learning how to recognize the warning signs of a suicidal crisis and how to question, persuade, and refer someone to help. Just like CPR, QPR is an emergency response to someone in crisis and can save lives.CEUs available to those licensed with the Florida Board of Clinical Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy and Mental Health Counseling: Provider Number 50-12347, exp. 3/31/2027.This class is FREE and limited to 30 participants. A Zoom link will be provided to the confirmed list 24 hours prior to the training.Please note: This training works best when each participant attends on their own individual device. If this is not possible and there will be multiple people attending on one device, please be sure to register as many spots as there will be participants. Please also reach out to the trainers through Eventbrite or at the email addresses listed below, prior to the start of the training, so that we can make accommodations.
