QMU – Local Impact and Global Reach: Open Event
Join the Chair of the University Court, along with our Principal and others, to learn about QMU’s recent successes and future ambitions.
Join Pamela Woodburn, Chair of the University Court, along with Sir Paul Grice, Principal and Vice-Chancellor, other members of the University Court, staff and students to learn about Queen Margaret University’s recent successes and our future ambitions.
As a university anchored firmly in East Lothian, but with a global reach, we are focused on addressing the needs of our local community, and on addressing national and international concerns, through our teaching, research and innovation. In all that we do, we work collaboratively and in partnership with a range of stakeholders.
The event will focus on the impact of our work locally and internationally, through a brief presentation and Q&A session, but also through an informal exhibition that will showcase a range of projects and developments, supported by expert guidance provided by staff and student participants. There will also be the opportunity to go on a guided tour of our recently completed Outdoor Learning Hub and Discovery Trail, and to experience how we are using virtual reality to prepare student paramedics for real-life scenarios.
There will be light refreshments and plenty of opportunities for networking.
We do hope that you can join us, and we look forward to welcoming you to the campus.
If you wish to attend and have any accessibility needs or require a BSL interpreter, please contact QMU Conference and Events by writing to events@qmu.ac.uk so we can accommodate you on the day.
When booking a ticket, please remember to add your car registration if travelling by car and to book onto any of the tours / demonstrations in advance.
*The tours of QMU’s Outdoor Learning Hub space and the Paramedic VR demos will be on offer at the start of the event, and after the formal presentation. Guests participating in the outdoor tour may wish to consider bringing appropriate footwear and outdoor clothing.
Please note, there will be a BSL interpreter present at the formal presentation and Q&A session.
