QCinema is the official film festival of Quezon City, the Philippines' City of the Stars.The annualQCinema International Film Festivalis designed to serve as the lens through which the general public will get to appreciate the active role of Quezon City in Philippine filmmaking from its pioneering years in the 50's down to the present and on to the future.Through theQuezon City Film Development Foundation, Quezon City is actively supporting the emergence of the new generation of Filipino filmmakers by offering substantial grants to new and young indie filmmakers, while providing opportunities for filmgoers to see the latest crop of films by local directors as well as foreign filmmakers.Indeed, Philippine cinema is now on the crest of a new wave in a city that has been its home, then, now and in the next decades to come.
