About this event

  • 3 hours

Join us as we dust off the cobwebs on our bikes, fill up the tires, lube our chains, and get our bikes ready for the first easy warm-up ride of the season on the Ahuwillticook Rail Trail with queer men from all over the region If you don't have a bike, you can contact Berkshire Outfitters to arrange to rent one by calling them at (413) 743-5900. During the ride you also could join us for early dinner at the Craft Food Barn about 4pm, and we may provide carpooling from the restaurant back to Berkshire Outfitters if you prefer not to bike back. Be sure to let us know if you want this shuttle opportunity so we can make arrangements for someone with a bike rake or space in their vehicle so they can leave their vehicle at the restaurant & shuttle a couple people and thei bikes back to Berkshire Outfitters.

OPTIONAL EARLY DINNER: About 4pm we intend to stop at the Craft Food Barn in North Adams (unless its raining, in which we may pick an indoor place) for an early dinner & then most of us will bike back to Berkshire Outfitters, but we may offer a shuttle service from the restaurant back to Berkshire Outfitters for you & your bike if you let us know in advance you'd like this and are not sure about your strength biking back. We cannot guarantee a shuttle until we know we have volunteer(s).

WHAT TO BRING: Please bring

  • whatever equipment your bike may need to ride safely, & you could buy some of these items at Berkshier Outfitters (e.g., air pump, spare bike tube, bike tube changing tool, lube for your chain, windex or other cleaner for your bike, rag, basic bike tools
  • rain-gear (rain coat & rain pants, ideally high visibility color with reflective strips)
  • appropriate waterproof footwear,

  • snacks & water,
  • waterproof gloves & balaklava, depending on the weather forecast
  • Glasses, Sunglasses, or Goggles to protect your eyes from dust, debris, & sunlight

Please check the weather the morning before the ride so you can make sure you have the right clothing & equipment if conditions change, which they often do in the Spring in the North Berkshires.

CARPOOLING/RIDE-SHARE: Carpooling is a great way to get to know other men, save money on gas, and help to reduce your carbon footprint and save the planet.
