Python Intro to Matplotlib for Visualization

Learn the basics of making visualizations in Python with the sophisticated plotting library Matplotlib.
This workshop will cover:
- the basic elements of a plot in Matplotlib
- the code format for making a plot
- how to customize the title, axis labels, legend, etc.
- basic plots using both continuous and categorial data
- where to find code you can adapt for your custom plots
This workshop will happen live, in-person and will not be recorded. You will need to bring a laptop to participate. Instructions will be sent out after you register on how to install Python and Matplotlib to your laptop or access it on the cloud from your laptop.
Prerequisites: Basic Python knowledge at the level of the Python Fundamentals Bootcamp and Pandas knowledge at the level of the Python Pandas DataFrames workshop.
Cost: $10 plus non-refundable Eventbrite service and processing fees. Note that this boot camp is only open to Northwestern University and Northwestern Medicine affiliates.
