Event description

Description

Overview

The purpose of the boot camp is to introduce the basics of the Python language to those already familiar with other computing languages (e.g., C, Java, FORTRAN, and Lisp). The boot camp is a mixture of formal lectures, in-class demos, coding breakout sessions for participants, and homework projects.

Logistics

The camp runs from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. each day and is open to anyone within the UC Berkeley and LBNL community. There will be a limited number of slots open to industry participants.

In the days leading up to the Boot Camp, you'll need to install some software and make sure it all works. Go to the Preparation page to get started.

A more detailed agenda will be sent out closer to the event.

Registration Requirements

This is not a computer science class; you must understand basic computer science concepts (e.g., looping, recursion, pointers, etc.) prior to attendance.
