<p><strong>Python</strong> is an amazing scripting language with an easy-to-understand syntax that is heavily used by programmers in fields ranging from web development to data science. It is a great first language for people who want to get into programming because of its English-like syntax and forgiving nature.</p>

<h3>Workshop Topics</h3><ul><li>Understanding the basic programming concepts. </li><li>Performing operations with variables.</li><li>Using conditionals to change the way the program behaves.</li><li>Running Python scripts from the command line.</li></ul><p><strong>Prerequisites</strong>: None</p>

<p><strong>Workshop Set-up Notes:</strong>  As this is an online workshop, we recommend that if you are planning on working along with the trainer that you set up you computer before hand to code in Python. You can find more information on setting up your machine for coding in <a href="http://sites.gsu.edu/panthertech/post-workshop-resources/python-1/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Python at this page</a>.</p>

<h2>FAQs</h2><h3>Are there Sign-up Requirements?</h3><ul><li>    YES. When you register, you MUST do so with your Georgia State University e-mail address. This workshop is only available to students, faculty and staff of GSU. Registering with your GSU account confirms this for us. </li></ul><h3>How do I access the workshop? Will I be sent a link?</h3><ul><li>    YES. An e-mail will go out no later than an hour before the published start time with the link and sign-up instructions for the workshop.  Only attendees signed up with GSU e-mails will receive the instructions for joining.</li></ul><h3>Will I need to download any special software?</h3><ul><li>    YES.  You may have to install a plugin for your browser, so make sure you are on a computer that allows this.  This should be a one time process for the browser.</li></ul><ul><li>    We recommend using FireFox to join us for the workshop.</li></ul><h3>Can I use another browser than FireFox?</h3><ul><li>    Yes, but our tests found FireFox's plugin download to be the quickest and easiest.</li></ul><h3>I’m running late. Can I still attend?</h3><ul><li>    Yes!  However, we recommend joining the online session early to set up your audio.  It can take a few minutes to get everyone’s audio properly connected.</li></ul><h3>Having trouble connecting?</h3><ul><li>    If you are having trouble with your connection, reach out in the chat field.
