More:

Detroit's architectural landscape, particularly its array of pre-war skyscrapers, encapsulates a period of economic prosperity and design innovation that left an enduring mark on the city's skyline. Among these historic structures, the Buhl Building stands out. Completed in 1925, the 26-story structure is an exquisite example of Neo-Gothic and Romanesque styles, featuring a terra cotta façade and granite base that accentuates its regal stance in Detroit's Financial District.

Across the street from the Buhl Building is the magnificent Guardian Building. Another crown jewel of Detroit's architectural heritage. Sometimes referred to as the "Cathedral of Finance," this skyscraper was completed in 1929. It is renowned for its Art Deco style, employing a bold palette of colors and materials, including the extensive use of marble, mosaics, and a striking façade made of orange brick and terra cotta.

A block away is the Penobscot Building, which at its completion in 1928, was the tallest building in the city and remains an important part of the skyline. This 47-story tower is an imposing figure in the heart of Detroit, distinguished by its Art Deco style and capped by steel tower and red globe that is visible for many miles.
