Is anyone younger than 18 allowed

Well... our workshop involves sharp objects and multi-step instructions aimed at adults. If you have a younger crafter (15+) and can be an actively participating co-crafting guardian, please get in touch with puppets@sillysidehustles.com, and we will consider this on a case-by-case basis.

Can I walk in day of?

If you book quickly... (and there is still space available). You can turn up on the day of, but I suggest checking the site first to see how many people have signed up.

Are puppeteering lessons included in the workshop?

Yes, I try to give a short puppetry demo session at the end. But if you have specifics you want to learn,ask me in class.

What kind of puppets do we make?

Professional-quality, moving-mouth hand puppets like the kind you have seen on TV
They are suitable for video, performance, boring video calls, TikToks, or goofing around with friends.

But what if I am really bad at making things?

Don't worry, the instructor will show you step-by-step how to make your puppet. If you feel like you aren't "creative," this is the workshop for you. Everyone walks away feeling like a winner.

Yes, all materials are provided.

Can I bring my own puppet making materials?

Accepted Answer

If you'd like to bring a small accessory to complement your puppet, we can probably accommodate that, but we won't have time to incorporate a ton of outside crafting materials.

Are sharp tools or glue used?

Accepted Answer

Yes,  sewing needles, blades, and hot glue are used. However, safe usage of all items is taught.

Can I make more than one?

There is only enough time to make one during the workshop. If you are interested in purchasing a puppet kit with all the supplies you need to make another puppet, you can discuss that with the instructor.

This is a GREAT date activity. You both get to learn something new, and after the class, your puppets can flirt with each other. In fact, if you use the code "datenight," you get a little discount for making it this far through the FAQ.
