About this event

Arts • Craft

Do you want to celebrate your favourite marine creature at the Whau Arts Festival Fishy Parade, but need some help making a puppet? We have workshops for you.

The 1.5 hour workshop will help you to make a fish, mud crab or tuna (eel) out of found and recycled materials.

For both adults and young people (8 yo and up). Children 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult (who will also get to make a puppet)

A Fishy Parade is a celebration of the creatures small and large that make up our local  marine ecology. With fabulous marine puppets and sculptures brought to you by YOU! The parade gathers at 5:30 pm on Saturday 18 October at Archibald Park and begins parading proimptly at 6:00 pm winding its way along the Te Whau Pathway.

From little ones to pets to all generations, this immersive experience invites self-expression while highlighting the significance of our treasured marine ecosystems.
