Event description

Description

Punch needle is a type of embroidery using a hollow needle, you use this needle to punch through the fabric to create loops. It creates an effect similar to a hooked rug which can create an interesting design and texture.

Lucy will teach you how to use the punch needle, how to transfer your chosen design on to the fabric. There will be a selection of designs for your inspiration or feel free to draw your own but it will have a botanical theme to the class. The class will cover how to combine different yarns so you can create different effects and textures.

Once you have finished your piece you can take it home and either turn it into a wall hanging or make it into a cushion cover, rug, lampshade, bag and many other items.

The class will be held in the Greenhouse - the beautiful conservatory at the back of the secondhand superstore, at Emmaus Brighton. Or if the weather is fine, we'll move out to the Terrace. We will get to enjoy some posh pop and cake afterwards.

All materials will be provided. Classes are limited to 10 spaces in total so please be quick if you would like to book.

(the ticket price is discounted due to the charitable nature of this event)
