As photography and nature lovers, this is our absolute favorite workshop! Join us for a unique photography experience where you will come face to face with these gorgeous tropical birds of paradise.
We will have several birds that we will have the chance to photograph throughout the workshop. We will begin with a lecture on the optimal camera settings and techniques to capture the best images possible, such as white balance, shutter speed, iso, depth of field, focus and drive settings and more.
The birds will be perched for us to photograph and the majority of the course will be hands on where students are actively photographing the birds. Instructor, Ashley Werter will be working one on one with each of the students as she walks around answering questions, offering suggestions and demonstrating further tips to the group
The sanctuary will provide the birds they are rehabilitating at the time. Guides will also be offering education and insights about the birds as we work with them. A portion of your admission will be donated to the sanctuary and tips and donations from students are always appreciated.
Ashley Werter is a professional photographer and has been teaching photography for over 10 years. Now a local in Vallarta she offers multiple photography workshops, walks and club meetings around town.
This special workshop is a great activity for solo travelers to explore the city and meet new people, and for families or friends who are photography and adventure lovers! All ages and camera types as well as skill levels are welcome! We’ll have a brief introduction to get to know the group and then the lecture will be designed to suit the majority. More advanced and camera specific questions will be addressed during the course when we work together more closely.

We will have shade provided but please also wear sunscreen and bring water. The birds can sometimes be quite load so if you are sensitive to noise you may want to use earplugs.
