Public Session of the Committee on Evidence-based Clinical Practice Guidelines for Prescribing Opioids for Acute Pain

The National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine Committee on Evidence-based Clinical Practice Guidelines for Prescribing Opioids for Acute Pain will be holding a public session on Tuesday, November 13, 2018, from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM ET, in Washington, DC.
This committee has been tasked by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to develop a framework to evaluate the evidence base for existing clinical practice guidelines for prescribing opioids for acute pain indications, identify surgical procedures and health conditions for which new evidence-based guidelines should be developed, and prioritize a research agenda to address the evidence gaps in existing clinical practice guidelines to meet the standards in the proposed framework.
The focus of this public session is for the committee to clarify the scope of the charge with the study sponsor and initiate the process of gathering relevant information related to the study.
This public session will be accessible to the public via conference call (using Zoom) and in-person attendance (seating is limited). Please register online to receive an email with the instructions on how to join this public session.
