 Psyche and Cinema Round Table: Phantom Thread

For more than thirty years, the Jung Society of Austin has offered lectures, classes, workshops, trips, film series and a variety of special events for people interested in exploring issues of psychological and spiritual development in a secular environment. All events are open to the general public and often include continuing education credits.

Join us in our always popular Psyche and Cinema Round Table! This month, presenters Dr. Victoria Shackelford and Dara Hopp will be discussing the muse of the dark and light feminine as experienced in the movie The Phantom Thread. Come join in on this lively and thought provoking talk!

Victoria Shackelford, MFA, MA, PhD, completed her Doctorate in Depth Psychotherapy with an emphasis in advanced supervision from Pacifica Graduate Institute. She graduated as a Distinguished Graduate with her MA from St. Mary’s University, in Community Counseling and holds a MFA from the University of Texas at Austin. Dr. Shackelford is in private practice for counseling and depth psychotherapy work. Specializing in anger management and working with families and couples in conflict she utilizing the modalities of Jungian psychotherapy, archetypal psychology, expressive arts therapies from the holistic perspective of Carl Jung and in tandem with the clinical perspective of Cognitive restructuring and CBT.
Dara Hopp, BFA in painting from Art Center College. Dara is a board member of Jung Society of Austin and is marketing director and designer of the JSA’s print and web materials. Dara has worked at the C.G. Jung Institute of Chicago and the C.G Jung Institute of San Francisco. She has been in workshops with Marion Woodman, James Hillman, John Beebe, Sam Keen  and Jean Shinoda Bolen. She is a Health and Wellness Coach, integrating all bases of health: diet, supplementation, mental, emotional, physical and spiritual.
