Prototyping Idea Jam
What would you create on your city streets, sidewalks, and plazas if you had the chance?
Now you can bring your idea to life! This year, PlaceMakers is inviting people of all backgrounds from Rochester to submit their ideas to improve the city’s public spaces. Selected projects will receive grants of up to $2,000 to prototype their ideas and showcase them to the public from September 15-17 on 3rd Street in Downtown Rochester.

Then come out to the PlaceMakers Idea Jam!
The Idea Jam will be an intensive, interactive evening designed to bring you from ideas to action. During the event you will have the opportunity to pitch your idea, gather or join a team to work with, refine your design concept, and begin working on your submission to the PlaceMakers Open Call for Proposals.
The event is co-hosted by Destination Medical Center, Rochester Art Center, and the Rochester Downtown Alliance. Ray Boyle and Jake Levitas, co-founders of Our City, will facilitate the event and be available for hands-on support.
