Prototyping Idea Jam

With Mayo Clinic at its heart, Destination Medical Center (DMC) is a 20-year economic development initiative to position Rochester, Minnesota as the world’s premier destination for health and wellness.

What would you create on your city streets, sidewalks, and plazas if you had the chance?
Now you can bring your idea to life! This year, <A HREF="http://www.downtownrochestermn.com/events/PlaceMakers" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">PlaceMakers</A> is inviting people of all backgrounds from Rochester to submit their ideas to improve the city’s public spaces. Selected projects will receive grants of up to $2,000 to prototype their ideas and showcase them to the public from September 15-17 on 3rd Street in Downtown Rochester.
Do you already have an idea, but need other teammates to make it happen? 
Are you interested in joining a team to lend your skills to a great project?
Do you just want to learn more and see how you can be involved?
Then come out to the PlaceMakers Idea Jam!
The Idea Jam will be an intensive, interactive evening designed to bring you from ideas to action. During the event you will have the opportunity to pitch your idea, gather or join a team to work with, refine your design concept, and begin working on your submission to the <A HREF="http://www.downtownrochestermn.com/events/PlaceMakers/call-for-proposals" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">PlaceMakers Open Call for Proposals</A>. 
The event is co-hosted by <A HREF="http://dmc.mn" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Destination Medical Center</A>, <A HREF="http://rochesterartcenter.org" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Rochester Art Center</A>, and the <A HREF="http://downtownrochestermn.com" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Rochester Downtown Alliance</A>. Ray Boyle and Jake Levitas, co-founders of <A HREF="http://ourcity.is" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Our City</A>, will facilitate the event and be available for hands-on support.
