Learn the secrets of advanced application techniques for realistic prosthetic application for Film and TV from masters of the industry! Understand how Ve approaches this craft, learning to professionally glue, apply, blend and color Pros-aide transfer, foam latex and silicone appliances. This class focuses on application only, allowing you to focus on set skills and train your eye. This class focuses on application only, allowing you to focus on set skills and train your eye. The prosthetics include pieces from iconic productions such as American Horror Story, Creed, The Orville and other shows (10 students max).

About this event:

Class Goal – Learn how to apply, blend, color and remove various prosthetics made from a variety of materials. Cover all equipment needed to apply foam latex, gelatin, Pros-aide and silicone gel-filled appliances. Understand the proper usage and techniques with various makeups, liquid airbrush colors and alcohol activated products depending on the material of the prosthetic. Cover the differences in opacities and how to blend coloration properly. Edge work, texture and proper transition are covered as well as proper removal and skin care.

  • Understand the fundamentals of realistic prosthetic application and makeups
  • Demonstrate knowledge of realistic color blending, edge work, transitions and textures in makeup application choices
  • Learn the professional tips and techniques of professional foam latex prosthetic application
  • Work with Pros-Aide appliances, understanding their differences and work with their transparencies.
  • Understand through lecture and demonstration the process of applying gelatin prosthetics.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of realistic silicone gel-filled appliance application
  • Learn how to combine creativity and knowledge to her makeup design elements

LAB FEE ($300.00 non-refundable)

The Lab fee covers the cost of all of the pre-made prosthetics you will be using in class - Pros-Aide transfers, gelatin appliances, foam latex prosthetics and silicone gel-filled prosthetics.

The lab fee is optional if you bring your own prosthetics however (contact info@legendsmakeup.com for more details).

LMA will be providing all lab material needed in the classroom (covered by the lab fee), but you will be responsible for putting together your makeup kit. We will email you a materials list for items needed outside of the lab materials. Students receive a student discount at Frends Beauty on the items that they might need.

MODELS

Models will be required every day for application. You are welcome to bring your own models, but if you need assistance with finding an actor model, let us know and we will schedule an actor for you. The actors will require a modeling fee day rate ($100 a day that students pay directly to them), so please keep that in mind.

PARKING

Parking is provided at the location.

We do recommend Uber/Lyft or being dropped off if you can arrange it.

HEALTH

Staff, instructors and models are fully vaccinated. The classroom will be setup with current industry standards in regards to hygiene and Covid protocols.
