About this event

The U.S. Department of Agriculture and Center for Faith Based and Neighborhood Partnerships, in collaboration with the Department of Health and Human Services, cordially invites you to a farm stress and suicide prevention briefing, Prosperity and Sustainable Livelihoods: Partnerships to Address Suicide in Farming Communities, taking place during National Farm Safety and Health Week and Suicide Prevention Month.

• You will get a chance to network and engage directly with senior leadership from USDA, HHS and key partner organizations to discuss best practices, strategic partnerships, and innovative ways to address farm stress and prevent suicide

• You will have access to free trainings focused on gaining skills in farm stress and suicide prevention, administering Narcan, and supporting communities after suicide loss.

• If travel barriers are a cost, USDA can support travel for attendees who might otherwise not be able to participate.

Day 1 – Opening Plenary and Screening of EMMY Award Winning On the Farm

Farmers have experienced high suicide rates, addiction, depression, and stress-related illness, all made worse because the problems often remain hidden. This film provides four compelling portraits of farmers who, in different ways, illustrate the stresses that weigh on America’s small family farmers.

Day 2 – Panel Discussions on Best Practices and Innovative Approaches to Suicide Prevention
