Prospect Park Pod Spring Semester Morning Sessions

We think children will need to return to an indoor environment after three hours of outdoor play so we can provide Care in your home privately or you can choose to do a share and then join us back outside at 2pm for our afternoon session. We will also have virtual programming from 12-2pm if desired.

Yes! Our goal is to spend as much time outdoors as possible and we plan to meet in all weather: rain, sun, snow, and cold. Depending on the day, we may ask "host families" to allow portions of class to be held inside as a respite on inclement weather days.

Cancellations will only be made in the case of dangerous weather: hurricanes, blizzards, etc. Classes cancelled by Ily,inc will result in affected families receiving a free makeup day.

Teachers have loads of experience caring for children! They are also background/reference/social media checked and trained and assessed in CPR/AID and First-aid. Our small class size and small child-to-teacher ratio allows us to hear and support all children during our time together.

Your Teachers are all Covid Vaccinated. Classes will also be capped at eight children. Each day upon arrival, we'll establish physical boundaries for play and rehearse our strategies for respecting our natural environment and each other.

The program does not offer make up classes when classes are in session. In the event your child is sick or cannot attend you can be matched with a Nanny for Private Care.

Our curriculum is inspired first and foremost by our learners and secondly by our natural environment. We learn phonetics, mathematics, science and more by sitting in mud, counting rocks, going on scavenger hunts through the wilderness and that's only the beginning!

It's completely fine for children to attend in diapers (just please pack extras, wipes and a personal changing pad). We will have a small portable potty available for the potty-trained children to use, as well as a pop-up tent for outdoor bathroom privacy.

We ask a few nearby families to be "Host Families" and allow us to use your home for inclement weather days and/or bathroom breaks if needed. Host family fees are discounted please speak with your Coordinator upon booking for a discount.

Full water bottle, Change of clothing/diapers, Snack. We believe it'd be best if children brought their own snacks, we will have wrapped ones such as granola bars available if needed. Teachers will also have pre-mixed soap and water for hand washing. NO NUT POLICY!
