She must find a way to assert her own identity and voice.The Opioid Epidemic Directed By: Monica Cohen &amp; Hortense GerardoA Mothers Reckoning Over 2,000 deaths by opioid overdose were reported in Massachusetts in 2019, one of the highest rates in the country. From the point of view of a mother whose son struggled with substance addiction, this short documentary examines the human toll of the opioid epidemic, destigmatizes efforts to seek rehabilitation, and provides resources for grief support.Raising The FloorDirected and produced by: Sabrina Aviles In 2020 a global pandemic sent the majority Latinx city of Chelsea, Massachusetts spiraling into chaos. Frontline workers risked their lives to help others, while City leaders came together in a desperate moment with a simple but inspired idea.Sandcastles Directed by: Sabine Bou-Jaoude A young Lebanese woman from a modest family, Samar, navigates her daily life in a patriarchal society whilst trying to find a better future for herself. One fateful night after trying to get back home from work, she takes a public cab home. The disturbing events of that night push her to take the decision to want to leave.A﻿fter the screenings, stay tuned for a Q&A session led by local filmmaker, Jessica Estelle Huggins.
