Join Project Exploration for a presentation on how to partner or volunteer with us this year, including a demo of a virtual STEM activity!

Project Exploration is excited to kick off a new year of STEM learning for our students and we hope you will join us this year in investing in Chicago&#x27;s young people.During this virtual event, we will share PE&#x27;s full program calendar for this school year and the many opportunities we&#x27;ve made available for you as an individual and/or your team to be involved. Opportunities include: <ul><li>leading hands-on STEM activities with our students</li><li>introducing new careers/STEM opportunities to young people</li><li>mentoring individual youth</li><li>hosting field trips</li><li>supporting students at events</li><li>serving as panelists at semester-end showcases</li><li>and more! </li></ul>While we hope to return safely to in-person programs soon, most of these opportunities are available virtually now and all year round. Also, experience first-hand what virtual programs have looked like for our students by completing a student favorite STEM activity with us on Zoom: making ice cream in a bag! Doing the activity with us will also give you a better understanding for the types of activities you might consider planning and leading with our young people. And who doesn&#x27;t love ice cream!?Should you choose to do the STEM activity with us during the event, supplies you will want to have ready per serving by Thursday, September 24th at 6:00 pm include:<ul><li>Set of measuring spoons</li><li>1 quart size Ziploc bag</li><li>1 gallon size Ziploc bag</li><li>Towel or Oven Mitt</li><li>1/4 cup sugar</li><li>3/4 cup salt</li><li>1/2 cup heavy whipping cream</li><li>1/2 cup milk</li><li>1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract</li><li>2 cups of ice</li></ul>After the event, we&#x27;ll be soliciting your ideas and preferences for partnership and volunteer opportunities on a first come, first served basis.
